The Critical Studies in Food and Culture’s mission is to support and share critical work on the cultural aspects of foodways, food practices, and consumption.
Critical Studies in Food and Culture (CSFC) is a vehicle for those whose research and teaching focuses on the critical investigation of food and culture. We are interested in the critical examination of taste, the analysis of culinary practices and representations, and the intersection of food with the arts, humanities, and society.
This CSFC facebook site is a place to post and share information about both contemporary and historical studies on the cultures of food production and consumption. Please feel free to share new work, announcements of symposia and conferences, and questions and findings about your own projects.
CSFC began as a research cluster at the University of California, Davis with the goal of connecting scholars across the arts, humanities, social sciences and food-related disciplines. Today, we seek to become a wider scholarly network, one that enables collaboration and support in food and cultural studies.
